Possible to cut blinkytape apart to lengthen distance between LEDS?

I'd like to keep the same number of LED's that are on the blinky tape but just need to lengthen the distance between them. Is it possible to just cut the tape as needed, solder wires between cut pieces to lengthen and use the same power supply that came with the blinkytape kit? If so are there any tutorials for doing this sort of thing?

It's definitely possible - and actually super simple. There is a set of solder pads between each of the LEDs, as well as a line that shows you where to cut. Just cut there and solder three wires right across; pretty straightforward, but let me know if you have questions about it.
