EightByEight - Error updating blinky. getFirmwareVersion timed out

Hi,
Downloaded the latest version of PatternPaint, but looks like I still can't upload sketches to the 8x8.
Win10 x64
They preview on the device ok, but times out with the error above using "Save to Blinky"

    Hi CrazyLefty, have you had any luck with this? You might need to do a firmware restore (tools->restore firmware) to update your firmware, before the save to blinky command will work.
